Mawlynrei Eco Tourism

Meghalaya is well known for its natural beauty. It has captured the hearts of many visitors from outside the state. There is one gem in the middle of many beautiful spots. In a location inside the busy streets of Shillong, there is a locality on the edge of the city named Mawlynrei.

The people of this village want to share its beauty with the world.
Mawlynrei Eco Tourism is a cooperative society formed in June 2022 as a way to promote the tourism sector of the village. Mawlynrei village is located approximately 17 km from Police Bazar, or Khyndai Lad, as the locals call it.

This village consists of plenty of natural beauty inside, which includes The Reserve Forest of the village, monoliths, waterfalls, caves, forest groves, rivers, a riverside beach, a canal, camping sites, trekking trails, unique-shaped trees, flora and fauna, and many more.

Mawlynrei has many scenic places to visit. It covers a very large area, making it impossible for any tourist to complete the tour in one day. There are several opportunities and scopes to improve the Mawlynrei Tourism Initiative. It has places for rock climbing, boating, rafting, gliding, and many more.
